The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has authorized a second booster four months after their first booster for people 50 and older; and a second booster 4 months after their first booster for people 12 and older with certain immune deficiencies which include:

• Receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
   
• Having received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
   
• Having received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
   
• Diagnosed with moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
   
• Having advanced or untreated HIV infection
   
• Being treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress the immune response
