The New York State FY24 budget only included a 4% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), when 8.5% was a bare minimum requirement to ease the statewide Direct Support Professional (DSP) vacancy crisis. There is an estimated 35.5% statewide DSP turnover rate and nearly 20,000 DSP positions are vacant leaving vulnerable New Yorkers with disabilities without critical care and support.
To correct this under-investment in the DSP workforce, please call on your State legislators to pass the Direct Support Wage Enhancement (DSWE): S4127 (Mannion) and A5268 (Seawright).
Please take a few minutes to complete this form and in one click this email will be sent to your legislators.
