Trisha Chapman and Veronica Crawford Highlight Mental Health and I/DD Support on WNYT
Trisha Chapman, CDNY Director of Specialized Services, and Peer Advocate Veronica Crawford recently joined WNYT-TV in Albany for a live segment focused on the intersection of mental health the I/DD community to start Mental Health Awareness Month.
During the interview, Trisha and Veroica discussed the higher risk of mental health conditions within people with I/DD and the importance of ensuring individuals have access to the right supports and services. They reinforced the importance of awareness, early support and person-centered care, while showcasing how CDNY empowers individuals to live the lives they choose.
