I/DD Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Training Videos

Rensselaer County Health Department, in collaboration with Care Design NY, hosted a 2-day training on the treatment of individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD). The 10-hour training was presented via web-conference by Julia Brower, the founder of Dragonfly Consulting and Training, specializing in SUD treatment for people with cognitive impairment.

The purpose of this informative training is to increase the knowledge base across the SUD, Mental Health and I/DD workforce in understanding I/DD, recognizing potential substance use disorders in individuals with I/DD, and learning techniques and strategies for the SUD treatment of individuals with I/DD.

This training was made possible through funding to Rensselaer County Health Department working in collaboration with Rensselaer County Department of Mental Health from NYS Department of Health (DOH).
