Care Design NY has established 4 regional advisory boards and are prepared to expand that number based on the amount of interest we get in each region. The Advisory Boards provide an opportunity for individuals and family members to help steer the development and operation of Care Design NY.
Each board includes people in a variety of different living situations (certified home, with family, independent) and from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Advisory Boards meet every other month.
The Advisory Boards will outline job descriptions for board positions like chairperson and secretary. They will also choose their own members and be responsible for creating and staffing committees as needed.
The key areas of Care Design NY the advisory boards will influence include:
Care Design NY leadership will attend Advisory Board meetings when the agenda warrants their participation, and Advisory Board members may periodically be included in Care Design NY executive staff meetings.
Why our members join the advisory boards:
We are looking for self-advocates and family advocates to join the advisory boards. Anyone in our Care Design NY community is welcome, and encouraged, to participate.
