Peer Empowerment Group

Description: The Peer Empowerment Group is designed for individuals interested in learning about advocacy with a focus on empowerment. You are invited to attend and participate in open discussions! You'll meet with other Self-Advocates and learn about the Care Design NY Individual and Family Advisory Board initiatives. This group embraces teamwork and we hope you will attend and become involved.

The Member & Family Advisory Board Legislative Committee is leading a one-hour workshop to make your advocacy for DSPs easy. Your voice matters…learn how to advocate!

• You will learn how to contact your representatives and the governor.
• You will receive a short list of talking points.
• You can get one-on-one help to advocate with confidence.
• You can do all of this with minimal time commitment.
